Lamb burgers are a great year-round dinner. I find that it really depends what you put with it to make with either light or cozy. I’ve made these without any bread. But if you are going to put them into bread I highly suggest bagel thins (they are much better than regular bagels and they toast amazingly well) burger buns will work as well.
This is a versatile dish, and I have some alternative sides below that you can have with your lamb burgers.
Optional side dishes:
Couscous
Rataouille
Vegetable tagine
Rice salad
Mashed potato
Potato salad
This dish takes about 20 minutes to cook and fry, the only hiccup can be needing to make the Raspberry mint Mayonnaise the night before. I have given instructions to make it the night before, but you can make it an hour ahead of time, it just won’t be as flavoursome.
Just to note – in the image that is Winter Spice Ribena, and it complimented the dish rather well

Raspberry Mint Mayonnaise
Ingredients
- 1/2 tbsp mayonnaise per person. I love mayonnaise and you can make less.
- 2 tsps garlic paste per person
- Raspberry vinagrette purée - to taste. Add it slowly. I did about 1 tsp per person. But you can add it slowly until you are happy with the flavour.
- 1.5 mint leaves per person. You can also add more. I do suggest that as it needed more of a kick. This is chopped finely.
Directions
- Step 1 Chop up the mint leaves and try to smash them as much as possible. You want to get them ready to release as much of its flavour as possible.
- Step 2 Then it gets simple. Mix everything together and let sit. I had let this sit for an hour before, and it was good, but I do think that you could be a bit more prepared and do it AT LEAST 2 hours in advance. Also you can put less mayonnaise per person. It is probably best to do that.
Lamb burgers
Ingredients
- 1 lamb burger per person (I went to Waitrose and got the lamb burgers with Chili, a very nice option)
- 1 circular large slice of goats cheese per person - or if you are being pedantic, about 25g
- Raspberry mint mayonnaise
- Additional
- Fried onions - cook them down and have them in long strips.
- Rocket / arugula salad with tomatoes and pinenuts
Directions
- Step 1 Fry the lamb burgers until they are rare. Add the cheese to the top and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.
- Step 2 Serve with raspberry mint mayonnaise.
- Step 3 Also goes well with a salad. The one in the picture is just cherry tomatoes, leaves, toasted pine nuts, salt and pepper.
- Step 4 This is a super quick and simple dinner when you make the raspberry mint mayo in advance.
